I have always held a fascination with being quoted… Somethings have been stated so well they resonate through time… I find I enjoy quotes and psalms… I enjoy quotes which make me think… some quotes even  manage to capture an essence of life… here are some of my favorite quotes……..

The “I” is an illusion, God alone is real -Rumi

Just when the caterpillar thought the world was over, it became a butterfly -proverb

Whether or not it is clear to you, no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should – Max Ehrmann

What lies behind us and what lies before us are small matters to what lies within us

– Ralph Waldo Emerson

Last but not least… the man whom I find to be the wisest

Mr Albert Einstein

Any intelligent fool can make things bigger, more complex, and more violent. It takes a touch of genius — and a lot of courage — to move in the opposite direction

Imagination is more important than knowledge

I want to know God’s thoughts; the rest are details

  1. 🙂 Thanks for tagging me. I’ll update the quotes sometime in the eve today. For now, I have a trip to catch.

(((glaize))) have a great trip 🙂

  2. Firstly I love the quotes that you have put up, “Just when the caterpillar thought the world was over, it became a butterfly” is one of my favourites as well. I will put together a few of my fav’s, there are so many! Will post soon 🙂

(((sanity))) Some quotes just hit the spot… have the right meaning at the right time…

  3. BEAUTIFUL quotes! Am I gonna take some of them? Oh, that’s for sure. I have the perfect pictures for some of them.

    🙂

    Claudia

    (((Claudia))) can’t wait!!!

  4. Dear enreal, you have really a quote treasure herein your post. My favourite is Mr. Einstein. Blessings.

((rainer)) Thanks… I could go on forever… words when put together just right can bring you to a place of reflection and contemplation… don’t you think?

  5. Wow that quote by Einstein moved me to tears. It sums up the purpose of my life. To simplify in order to clarify in order to understand.

I do have the courage to be true to myself and to move in the opposite direction to the intelligent fools but it still feels nice to have the endorsement of old Albert 😉

    Thanks – V

(((V))) You’re words sum it up… with the help of Mr E. Welcome to my online home… I hope you enjoyed your time here…

  6. This was wonderful….the quote about the butterfly reminds me alot of a quote from Jonathan Livingstone Seagull: “What the catapillar calls the end of the world, the Master calls a butterfly”. Thanks for sharing your favorites 🙂

(((Grace))) “The master” I loved that one… life is funny though… I often wonder what brings those to the discovery of knowledge and hidden truths… Nice to see you around…

  7. Yes words do have incredible power and with tone they have even more power. I thought about what word I would add to your list and the first word that came to my mind was “awareness”.

(((mark))) that definitely hit the mark 😉 Nice to see you here… take care

  8. Nice quotes. Who said a great scientist can’t be a great philosopher? Einstein proved otherwise.

    My favorite quote:

“If you know your enemies and know yourself, you will win hundred times in hundred battles. If you only know yourself, but not your opponent, you win one and lose the next. If you do not know yourself or your enemy, you will always lose.”

    Sun Tzu

(((Leafless))) wise words indeed, thank you for this quote…

  9. Sorry , enreal . I don’t have a stock of quotes .

    Give me some time .

But I want to say something .

Every quote is valid within a context .

So quote by itself could be misleading until and unless the situation
    is described .

There are times when they clear up fog or give a direction .

(((akash))) I know what you mean

  10. I enjoyed reading all the comments! As you already know I love quotes too!

First of all…this quote on your list was life changing for me:

What lies behind us and what lies before us are small matters to what lies within us
    – Ralph Waldo Emerson

I still carry it in my wallet! 🙂

It was very difficult for me to narrow it down to a few, because my list continues to grow! Alas, here are a few that I count among my favorites. (you’ve seen some of them in my posts).

    Every wall is a door.
    Ralph Waldo Emerson

I have learned, that if one advances confidently in the direction of his dreams, and endeavors to live the life he has imagined, he will meet with a success unexpected in common hours.
    Henry David Thoreau

“You must live in the present, launch yourself on every wave, find your eternity in each moment.” ~Henry David Thoreau

“Your vision will become clear when you look into your heart…
    He who looks outside, dreams
    He who looks inside, awakens.”
    ~Carl Jung

    Last but not least :

The highest revelation is that God is in every man.
    Ralph Waldo Emerson

I see the DIVINE in you dear one…thank you for your light!

(((gypsy))) Love them all! I know what you mean… my list keeps growing, when I want to quote one I have to think of the correct string of words… Peace Gypsy… Thank You
