They leave shadows

Time passes

The wind whispers your name.

Thoughts pass

The mind holds them in vain.

The soul grasps

To the memories in pain.

Why must these memories fade?

~

Do I recall that which I lost?

The time spent for the highest of cost.

Love is paid from the bond which is made.

As life goes forward with or without a way.

Why must these memories fade?

~

Some may be unburdened, for memories weigh down.

Some may be melancholy, for there is something to be found…

“The memories carry lessons, leaving messages to be read Signs upon the threads… Anchors upon the lines of the mind…”

Why must these memories fade?

~

Loss and gain

Happiness and pain

Sorrow and shame

Through all we overcame…

Why must these memories fade?

~

They leave shadows

Shadows are not memories

A shadow is but darkness cast in the presence of light

it is not the light, only a glimpse

Time passes and the wind whispers your name.

Thoughts pass and the mind holds on in vain.

The soul grasps on to the memories in pain.

Why must these memories fade?

Inverted

Imagine sorrow digging a trench in your soul
A seemingly endless hole
Whose bottom is filled with pain, grief and sadness

The base is so deep
So is the pain

In that trench of everlasting grief there is a breath
A glimmer of thought

The amount of suffering it takes to fill
Is the amount of depth it takes to complete

That feeling
Inspiring

Invert the pain
That trench…that feeling
That is your capacity of hope
That seemingly endless hole
Will one day be the seemingly endless mountain

The peaks arising
The beautiful horizon
Away from the pain
Away from the sorrow
Away from the darkness
Into the light
Joy and happiness

The capacity for pain
Is the capacity for Love

People are too quick to dismiss emotions. People are too quick to evoke the wrong emotions. If we accept all feelings, painful and painless, then we might learn. -Enreal

Remember to remember

When I remember to remember the ache creeps in. So easy is it to push aside dreams and in turn head towards a given reality.

When I remember to remember a shadow is thrown. So easy is it to run with the sun and leave behind the darkness in silence.

When I remember to remember the silence breaks. So easy is it to listen to breath and the constant rhythm of the heart.

It beats

I breathe

I cast shadows

I walk the path blind

Yet when I remember to remember

When I choose to not forget. I know.

It is not so easy to escape that which comes from within. Blinding yourself. Ignoring the ache. When I remember to remember I feel sad.

Perhaps I shall forget this too.
