The coward and the prince

Come look for me, for I have not the strength to leave

Come look for me, for I have no will, no freedom

Come look for me, for I wait in my tower, a prisoner of my mind

Afraid for love

Afraid for pain

Alone in pride

Alone in shame

Come find me, I feel as though my eternity has passed

For I have not the courage to forever forsake the mask

Come find me, it is all that I ask

Be it Love… simple it may be

A coward awaits the prince,

All fools for love

Never shall they see

Oh bliss,

come and share the veil with me…

  1. The fragility of the ego, the fear that lies below it’ thin surface.

~mark~ wisdom speaks loudly from these words… yet I can hear only a whisper… indeed a thin surface

  2. I found this helpful:

    Spiritual Windowshoppers

    from Rumi

    These spiritual windowshoppers,

who idly ask, ‘How much is that?’ Oh, I’m just looking.

They handle a hundred items and put them down,

    shadows with no capital.

What is spent is love, and two eyes wet with weeping.

But these walk into a shop,

and their whole lives pass suddenly in that moment,

    in that shop.

    Where did you go? “Nowhere.”

What did you have to eat? “Nothing much.”

Even if you don’t know what you want,

buy something, to be part of the exchanging flow.

Start a huge, foolish project, like Noah.

It makes absolutely no difference what people think of you.

~ mossy~ you always find a new way for me to think… I am grateful for your words, and your wisdom… you always enrich and teach simultaneously… thank you my friend

  3. Why you want to share the veil? It feels to me as if you have penned down my feelings only. Lovely write.

~neilina~ we all share the veil…we all see the mirage… perhaps it is in our blindness that we truly see ourselves… thank you for your comment

  4. Dear enreal, this one touches. It feels true, honest and it is a flow out of the box…..Happy Blogging

~Rainer~ thank you friend… thank you for reading my words and sharing my lines… thank you for Being

  5. Dear heart…count this among my most favorites of your words!!
    It is truly divine!

Energies of love and light to you!

~gypsy~ thank you my friend… energies and light received… sending them back to you 😀

  6. All lies. The jealous mind whispers lies to the heart to keep it from realizing it’s rightful place.

~mossy~ what is its rightful place… alone? with love? with truth? who is to say the ego, the mind, the heart… who is to say?

    What say You?

  7. Hello Enreal,

It seems to me that the heart is a mirror of what we are, while the mind is nothing more than a tool that has fooled the heart into thinking that the heart is a mere servant.

The heart’s rightful place is to know love, contentment, gratitude and wonder in all things, but often the mind displaces these with reasons and explanations, what ifs and worries.

~mossy~ answer me this… these words are beautiful by their own rite… they speak of truths and pleasant realities… the mind is the villain in this fairy tale of happiness… the heart is the princess in the tower… who is the prince? And what if the ” heart is a mirror of what we are,” what if the mirror was broken by the mind… what then?

I hope you don’t mind where I am going with this… it is an interesting conversation…
