Weep for yourselves

“One cannot weep for the entire world. It is beyond human strength. One must chose” -Jean Anouilh

When we wake and the dawn brings us our thoughts anew, what have we to do? A new day to bring a new way. Each day marks the possibility for greatness. And what do we do with it? Forget as people have done for years. We choose our battles, attribute our strengths and transcend our failures onto the next generation. When will this stop, the endless cycle of ignorance and contention?

Is it true we must choose? The pureness of the innocent who know not what the world has become. The misled who follow under false pretense the chosen path of few wise men? Who can we weep for? Ourselves perhaps? The cycle continues…nothing resolved…nothing achieved…the beginning at hand…the end perhaps. Do we all recognize man kind for its faults? Or do we see perfection in a mirage? We need to disturb our eyes, and suffer the Earth. Feel the Earth…for our fathers lie within screaming for us to hear, “Do not weep for the entire world…weep for yourselves, for the cure is hidden and it takes but one to see and the rest to believe”

Choose to believe!!

I recalled this quote by Jean Anouilh… perhaps we shall weep for one another…what say you?

  1. Dear enreal, I am very fond of smiling and I prefer a tiny grin to a tear. Nevertheless when I see in the news the atrocities of these world I may feel sad or angry, but will it change anything?

~rainer~ do you think it could change anything? sometimes I feel so small… then I dream dreams so large… I agree… I would love to not feel sad or angry, perhaps we are meant to feel all? Perhaps?

  2. “Do we all recognize man kind for its faults? Or do we see perfection in a mirage? ” So real; so true; so deep. I strive to see perfection in a miriage; but the ego which I carry often-times gives me the darker perception. But I shall strive to not let the darkness overshadow the light; and the light will one day prervail. I can feel it. Beautifully written, interpreted and philosophized. Thanks for shedding your miriage of light once more, Angel Ereal. PLL, CordieB.

~Cordie~ My dear, w all have misconceptions… it is the underlying vision… the underlying intention… bless you my dear…

  3. This post smacks of biblical proportions for me.
It’s a “whatsoever you do” sort of thing.
We wake every morning wanting to do right but somewhere down the road someone puts sugar in our coffee when we don’t want it and we ask why.
This post needs to be pondered as does most of what you write here, E
    Wonderful and insightful.
    Makes me think.

~m~ thank you for your kind words and sentiments… life is life… I have learned to accept it and carry on… I have also learned to question every aspect and linger… thanks again michael

  4. I think we need to weep for each other not just ourselves – weeping for ourself alone makes us selfish – weeping for others shows our compassion. Compassion and love of others is the way out of the mess we humans have made of the world.

~zenuria~ my dear friend… you seem to have ha answer… or perhaps know the secret… it is through empathy we achieve knowledge… thank you my friend for shining your light…

  5. Weeping for ourselves will get us nowhere. I think we already do weep for ourselves, everyday. And I believe that we have to learn to weep for others, then we’ll get somewhere. That’s what I think.
