But for a moment

Tell all what you see
Enlighten the soul
Awaken the dream

Show all to your sight
Grant one a vision
Give all the right

Allow but a chance to be free
Spreading the wings of the soul
Releasing the barrier of the body

Guide and teach one of love
Show all the meaning
That none shall rise above

Then as all ask you

All these tedious things
Implore and haunt you
For all which you bring

As one bothers your mind
With puzzles and riddles
The countless have none other than time

It is only the pleading
As one bowes before thee
It is one soul which is aching
To walk blind but for a moment to see

  1. Oh, this is great – truly great. I enjoyed reading the whole thing, but the last two lines, “It is one soul which is aching; To walk blind but for a moment to see,” just drew me into my own soul and sent me searching. Love it!
